PASTORING AS A SPIRITUAL FATHER
In the race of ministry, every leader must faithfully run their leg with vision, diligence, and endurance (Hebrews 12:1, Proverbs 21:5). But just as crucial is the hand off, the intentional, prayerful process of raising up the next generation. Paul’s ministry reveals the heart of a spiritual father, not just a preacher or guide, but a mentor, model, intercessor, and discipler (1 Corinthians 4:15, 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12).
Pastoring as a spiritual father is not about position or title. It is a mindset rooted in Christlike humility, wisdom, and love. It reflects God’s design for multiplication and legacy through mentorship, encouragement, and discipleship (2 Timothy 2:2). A spiritual father prepares others to take the baton, ensuring the race continues with purpose, power, and divine direction.
Now is the time to prepare the hand off with open hands, faithful hearts, and eyes on Jesus.
